• 1. Can it be so easy ?

  CER is skilled with complex technology.
  From our periodical customer surveys we learned that you are satisfied with the reliability of the CER products and that you even want more possibilities.
  But most importantly you requested simplicity because you experience internet and network technologies as being quite complex.
  CER got to work and today we can tell you: CER made it easier and in the next paragraphs you will find several examples.
  

• 2. New ! free Catalog 2010 is available !

  Several years ago CER started developing their own product; FieldCommander.
  Now several years later the product assortment has grown with different products and product options divided by several product groups.
  Maybe you lost track ? That is why CER made an online catalog, where you can find all the information you need. This makes finding the right product much easier.
  

• 3. New ! CER Device Manager: 1 tool for simple management of your network of devices.

  Increasingly more customers are using CER products like FieldCommander or micro-FieldCommander. Every device needs to be installed and for example get an IP-address. This usually will take about 10 minutes but we have tried to make this even easier.
  CER has designed a new management-tool; the CER Device Manager.
  This new management tool is a Windows program that you can run on your PC/notebook which gives you in 1 glance an overview of all your network devices.
  So all recent CER systems, FieldCommanders, micro-FieldCommanders, ELS-servers and HMI-consoles are supported.
  You can now configure these devices remotely from a central location.
  CER has also included useful features. For example when you “lost” a device, you can make it beep to find the device easily.
  With the CER Device Manager your device management will be simple. And even more grandiose: the CER Device manager tool is free. You will find this new software tool as of today on you product-CD.
  

• 4. Information on CER website simpler available.

  Of course you can find a lot information on the CER website.
  But a lot of information doesn’t always make it easy to find the right information.
  That is why you can find common info/overviews from the CER website through a simple parameter.
  For example with "www.cer.com/catalog" the catalog is available with one click.
  And with "www.cer.com/manual" you will immediately find an overview of all our product manuals.
  And if you want to know which parameters are possible; with "www.cer.com/parameters" you will have an overview of common used parameters.
  Hopefully finding the right information on our website is a bit easier as of today.
  

• 5. Training: with that everything becomes simple.

  Driving a car is not difficult but nonetheless we need an average of about 20 hours of driving lessons.
  CER technology is a lot easier to learn because in 1 day of training you can get familiar with our products.
  With these training courses - with the assistance of a professional trainer - you will become familiar with new technologies much faster.
  CER has designed the following training courses:
  
  • The FieldCommander training. This is a technical training for application engineers in which we explain technology of FieldCommander in 1 day. On the basis of technical cases we explain the possibilities of the FieldCommander.
  • The workshop FCDomus. During this workshop we explain step by step the domotica and building automation tool FCDomus whereby configuring domotica and building automation solutions is the most important.
    The FCDomus workshop is 1 day part and is especially meant for installers that want to specialize in the domotica and building automation world.
  • The workshop FCEntercom. During this workshop we explain door/video-intercom applications. The complete application structure will be explained. It starts with door ring signalling and connecting with bells, the managing of the speak/listen communication and the connecting of entrance/door openers. Of course we explain the connection possibilities with domotica and building automation and we will practise with configuring camera-registration or the forwarding of the talk/listen-connection.
    The FCEntercom workshop is 1 day part and is meant for installers that want to become more familiar with video-intercom applications. The participants require FCDomus experience to be able to join this workshop.
  • The network training day. Are you also being confronted regularly with the technical aspects regarding IP-networks? Then this training is very suitable for you. During this training we explain network configurations, the process of the data communication, how IP-devices must be configured and tested. We will explain the Internet Protocol(IP); the differences between TCP and we explain about technologies like ARP, DHCP, DNS and ICMP; firewalls or routers; IPv4;IPv6, and VLANs. And we will elaborate on the server /client relations between network components. All these aspects you will learn in the Network training day.

• 6. CER webshop makes ordering easy.

• 1. New ! FCEntercom: integration for intercom and domotica and building automation.

  One moment you think everything is possible with technique and the other moment you are heading for disappointment.
  This describes the situation at most front doors. Door bell, door opener, intercom, camera, lighting. These are all loose elements with their own wiring and without integration possibilities.
  This is not necessary anymore because now we have FCEntercom. FCEntercom is not 1 product but a concept to be able to integrate domotica and building automation and video-door intercom.
  A FCEntercom- solution is
  • Completely IP-network based so you need just 1 connection for domotica and building automation/ict/intercom.
  • Based on OPEN standards like SIP
  • Easy to combine with 1 or multiple domotica and building automation systems like KNX or ZigBee.
    And even a mix of techniques is possible. This way you can provide apartments with X10 and the penthouse with KNX while everything can work together.
  • Expandable because of the open-concept
  FCEntercom is the ideal solution in multi-user buildings like business centres, apartments or care complexes.
  A FCEntercom-application contains often the next components;
  • 1 or multiple Access-Stations.
    This is a module for at the entrance door. Door bell signalling, door opening, talk/listen connection or camera aspects are all realized. It is even possible to connect existing bells.
  • 1 or multiple Home-Stations.
    From apartment or office everything can be monitored, you can communicate with visitors and the entrance and everything can be operated from a distance.
  • sometimes there is a common system for example for the connection with central lighting, or the elevator or the barrier of the car park.
  CER often gets inquiries of end users for these kinds of solutions and therefor we are searching for system-integrators which want to specialize in these kinds of products.
  

• 2. New ! FCGateway.

  Do you also have different systems that need to be connected but unfortunately they communicate different protocols ? This situation is very recognizable and for these problems CER has developed a new product: FCGateway !
  There is a large variety of systems and protocols in the electro/ICT-world. Companies that need to care of system integration often search for gateways to connect one protocol with the other protocol. The well known FieldCommander technology of CER supports a lot of different protocols to do this. Often we were asked if it was possible to transfer protocol-A to protocol-B. A device for such a translation is called a protocol convertor or ‘a gateway’. With FieldCommander you can make such a convertor. But you needed some more knowledge of the FieldCommander-script.
  This was the motive for CER to design an universal gateway-script. Users that require a gateway can now use FCGateway for this. FCGateway is a convertor that easily translates protocol-A to protocol-B.
  You do not have to be able to programme. For your application you only need to indicate which translation you want to implement and FCGateway will do the rest.
  You want to translate wireless EnOcean to KNX ? FCGateway can do this !
  You want to connect fire detection to KNX ? FCGateway can do this !
  You want signals of a Galaxy alarm translated to KNX ? FCGateway can do this !
  You want reports of a fire detections transferred to your telephone exchange ? FCGateway can do this !
  And very special FCGateway is open-source and .....FCGateway is available for free.
  At this moment FCGateway already supports multiple protocols and soon even more will be available. For more information about FCGateway please check out the productinfo on our website.
  

• 3. Domotica and building automation tool FCDomus version 2.x available.

  FCDomus is a handy tool for domotica and building automation applications and offers you
  
  • freedom in use of domotica and building automation technique, even a mix is possible.
  • visualisation which offers you freedom and not restriction in the number of screens or for example integration with camera-pictures or other web systems.
  • operating options from a PC, LCD-panel or iPod/iPhone and if necessary also from a distance.
  • programmable logic so complex features are also possible.
  • simplicity because of ambiance/zone possibilities
  • extensive scheduler
  • reports by email or SMS
  With FCDomus you will have a domotica and building automation controller and a residential gateway which also makes easy operating and visualisation possible.
  FCDomus is also accessible from other systems so you can use FCDomus as a “slave” for other systems.
  FCDomus software is open-source and available for free.
  In the new version 2.0 a lot of new functionality has been added. The details you can find on the FCDomus-CD.
  At this moment the latest FCDomus version is 2.07.

• 4. New ! HMI-console's control panels.

  Your customer wants to be able to see a clear status of a building or a machine and operating must be simple. For this CER has developed the new HMI-consoles which are available as of today. HMI-consoles are specifically designed for optimal Human Machine Interface.
  The HMI-consoles contain the following features:
  • LCD-display for visualisation
    The display is equipped with a modern embedded web browser with flash-possibilities and java-script support. You will have an excellent reproduction of status info or you can monitor a process. And in addition a SIP-client is present so you can use the HMI-console as a speak/listen connection as well.
  • Touchscreen LCD-screen for visualisation.
    Operating is possible through a user-friendly touchscreen and a virtual keyboard makes it possible to enter text.
  • SIP-client
    The built-in SIP-client makes speak communication (speak/listen) possible through the modern SIP based VoIP (Voice over IP) protocol. This makes your HMI-console also suitable as speak/listen connection.
  • FCEnet support
    To be able to use the HMI-console in video-door-intercom applications or with integration in domotica and building automation- or access control systems support of FCEnet-protocol is also included.
  Besides these features HMI-consoles are made energy efficient so they do not need a fan. And this of course offers the advantage of quiet working and no wear so they have a longer lifespan.

• 5. FieldCommander software extended.

  The FieldCommander software box of bricks has been comprehended again so even more protocols are supported. The SIP-protocol, the standard for digital speak/listen connections like VoIP is now also available. This makes it possible for example to let a fire detection alarm your in-house emergency and first-aid service and give them the right information.

* FAQ: Frequently asked questions.

• 1. Can I attach a flat panel display to a FieldCommander controller ?

  There are a few FieldCommander models to which you can NOT attach a display but also then operating/visualisation is possible with other web-devices for example a PC or an iPod.
  Besides that there are also FieldCommander models you can attach a VGA-display, for example an LCD-display, to. The FC4702 is such a model.
  At last there are also FieldCommander models with built-in display. We would like to draw your attention to the wall mounted FC4112 or the panel mounted FC4212 .
